Julien Courson is a professional in the non-profit sector with over 15 years of experience. He holds an MSc in Economics from Saint Joseph University (USJ) in Beirut, and he is a certified professional mediator from the Center for Professional Mediation at USJ & Université Catholique de Paris. Since 2018, he holds the position of Executive Director at the Lebanese Transparency Association (LTA), the local chapter of Transparency International.
Before joining LTA, Julien worked as a consultant, researcher and trainer in advocacy, conflict resolution, and governance. With over 15 years of local and regional experience, Julien led the strategic development of several local and regional initiatives and programs. Throughout his career, he has consulted with numerous local and international organizations in areas ranging from good governance, conflict resolution and negotiation.
Julien’s work experience spans over Lebanon, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan and Morocco. He has been, from 2004 till 2015, a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics of Saint-Joseph University (USJ), and was selected by the European Union Delegation in 2010 to participate to the European Union Visiting Program in Brussels. Also, he participated in 2020 to the International Visitors Learning Program (IVLP) organized by the U.S. State Department. He also held the position of Executive Director at Association Lebanese pour l’Education et la Formation – ALEF between 2006 and 2010. His recent publications focus on the governance of the Oil and Gas sector in Lebanon.
